Walking around the Viennese streets
Makes me feel at home
Hello hello,
This week has been great. I spent my last few days in Bulgaria both in Sofia and Koprivchitska, which was beautiful by the way.
The boys’ baptism went really well, and the guests seemed to enjoy themselves as well!
I enjoyed Koprivchivtsa because it was a very small town, which
mountains surrounding it, and it reminded me of a small town in Austria! The air was so fresh, and everything was beautiful.
When we got back to Sofia, Metodi bought a new iPhone, and gave me his old one, so be prepared for some beautiful shots of Vienna ↓
My interview on Monday for the supply teacher position went super well! They are going to contact me for a second interview soon, and we will see where that goes.

It’s my first time not knowing anyone in the city.
Even though Vienna is my favourite city in the world, I came here all alone, with no plans or friends to greet me. Of course, I have some acquaintances that I met on exchange, but 95% of the time here has been solo. And I’ve been loving it. Granted, the first day was a little bit rough, because I went to being surrounded by several family members, to eating breakfast alone in a cafe. But as soon as I got through the first night, I’ve been having a blast.
My first day in Vienna was filled with walking by my favourite areas from the past, and sitting in beautiful gardens. I also found a piano rental place, where I started going daily for only 5€ and hour! I love it there, and the pianos are such high quality! I finished the day by meeting up with a classmate from my exchange and playing some trivia with her friends, it was loads of fun!

On Wednesday, I started the day with one of my interviews, which ended before it even started… I showed up on time, and a few minutes later the manager came up to me and asked if I had a working permit. I said no, and he said there is no chance foe mw to work for them. I was a little bit frustrated, because they knew I was coming to Vienna for this interview, and could have easily asked me this question over email. However, instead of sulking about this, I took the opportunity to explore more of Vienna. My mindset was the everything happens for a reason, and I definitely did not get the most friendly vibes from this cafe anyways. I had another interview that day, which went much better! They offered me a second interview if I can get a work permit…
I quickly rushed off to a pilates class after that, and I finished the day by watching an opera as a movie at the Rathaus (city hall), and it was amazing quality!
Yesterday was the hottest day so far, where I started my day at a super cute breakfast place called Ulrich, which served a delicious breakfast sandwich. I continued on to do a Free Vienna Walking Tour, which was also nice. The guide led us through secret alleyways right in the core of Vienna! My favourite part of the day was when I went to the Donauinsel, and spent several hours sunbathing, swimming, reading, and chatting with friends. It was lovely! I ended the day with some takeout Thai food and an early night in.

Right now, I am sitting in a very lovely and cozy coffee shop called Dirt Water, which is actually an NGO providing clean water to people in Cambodia. I got to know the owner the other day, and all of the staff are super nice. I also happen to live right above this place!
Later today I am planning a nice bike ride along the Donau, and will finish the day
with a concert of the 4 seasons at the Karlskirche! I am very excited.
I am really happy to finally be here, and am making some wonderful memories.
Yours Truly.
Nastia
