Memories of the Fall – Original

I wanted to add in some “spooky” elements for Halloween, and the autumn theme to signify change.

I wrote this song after finally getting over a breakup. It mixes in with growing up.

Lyric meanings:

“All the chills and fears”
– Halloween reference: The children are trick-or-treating, but are also growing up realizing it’s not that scary.

“To all the memories of the fall”
– To all the memories with him, but also of childhood.
The fall: a metaphor for physically falling and getting hurt.

“But the thrill, it’s hard not to want it”
– Reference to it being hard to resist toxic relationships, even though I was healed.

“Leaves are falling, they call me by name”
– The leaves are a metaphor for the voice in my head, telling me it’s time to move on
