My Last Week of Vacation in Malta

Don’t cry because it’s over.

Smile because it happened.

Well hello there!

I am currently sitting in the airport (I think it’s my home now), and I just finished editing my YouTube vlog.
It’s quite long this time, so I hope you enjoy!

This last week in Malta has been amazing. Although most days have been 35C+, it’s the people that I spent my time with that made it memorable.

We did visit many places, such as Mdina, Birgu, some beaches, cool pubs and more, though! I think I have seen more of Malta than the regular tourist, and I am so grateful for that.

This week was bittersweet.

I think most people agree that it’s impossible to constantly stay in the moment. As much as I try to do this, it’s inevitable to start thinking about what will happen when all of this happiness will end. Even though I made some amazing friendships, and strengthened some too, I am so sad to leave, without knowing when I’ll be back.

I know that I’m on my path, and it won’t be easy, and it doesn’t mean I shouldn’t make connections… But it’s still heartbreaking for me.

I started the week (on Friday) by exploring the capital city once more, and we went to a snazzy Jazz bar at the end of the night. The musicians were phenomenal, which makes sense that this was the most popular Jazz club in Malta (Bridge Bar).

On Saturday, I woke up quite late and didn’t do much actually. I decided to take it easy.

Sunday was the day we visited Mdina, the silent city. It is very similar to Valetta, the capital, and it actually used to be the capital! I tried Pastizzi, a traditional Maltese

“Samosa”. It was delicious!

Monday was great. We went to a beach club for Anouk’s birthday and really took advantage of the day. I had my phone on airplane mode, and realized I’d like to do that a lot more often.

On Tuesday, Anouk and I visited the 3 cities, which are very small but very nice. We had a delicious lunch, but because of the heat, we went back home quite quickly.

Wednesday was a great day, and I even got a hotel room for the night to really treat myself. I had amazing Japanese cuisine, and finally some AC in the room.

Thursday was Anouk’s birthday, and we went for a nice dinner and drinks at her favourite bar.

There were some tears, but mostly laughs, when I left her today. I’m so grateful to have gotten to come visit her, and I’m planning my trip back very soon!

Some updates for the next few weeks:

I am going to Bulgaria now, and I can’t wait to see my family!!!

After Bulgaria, as I mentioned, I fly to Vienna on July 6th. I’m really excited for that too, as it’s my dream city.

Gonna board my flight now!

bisous.

Yours truly,
Anastasiya
